Haven Cottage is a 5-minute walk from Ambleside and a mile from Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England, this charming guest house was originally two separate Victorian cottages.

It specialises in home-cooked food and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Haven Cottage still retains traditional old features like wooden beams and feature fireplaces. Most rooms benefit from picturesque mountain views, and all feature a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast is provided each morning, made with Cumberland sausage or vegetarian sausage, lightly smoked dry-cured bacon, and other locally sourced ingredients. A number of scenic walking routes start from Haven Cottage, and cycle storage is provided if guests wish to bring their bicycle. The market town of Keswick is a 20-minute drive away.

Leave the centre of Ambleside signposted towards GrasmereKeswick on A591. Keep left at mini roundabout and pass the Fire Station and Police Station. After about 250 yds (just before a set of bollards) you will see Haven Cottage on your left
